Hello, my name is Anderson , I am 11 and I have worked since I was 9. I started in a charcoal factory with my father and I only left it when we moved to the city. There, I worked under the traffic lights, selling candies, or at the beaches, offering popsicles to tourists. Data from IBGE 15 in 2019 show that there were 1.8 million children and adoles- cents working in Brazil. Out of those, 706,000 busy with the worst forms of child labor 16 . Besides, 66% are black. Only 15.2% are legally employed as an ap- prentice. In Brazil, the minimum age for work is 16, except in case of being an apprentice, when they can be 14. Before that, the Consti- tution prohibits any kind of work. 17 According to the ILO , there are 160 million children and adolescents working in the world.
