I discovered some training for citizenship projects that discuss the theme of child labor in schools. That is how I learned that child la- bor is extremely harmful and would end up jeopardizing my future. Besides taking my childhood away… a time that never comes back… My Family got by on very little money, despite the fact that they wanted me to have better life opportunities than they had. But, thanks to the support of public policies, I could get back to school and stop working. <In my country, a law has been approved in order to prohibit under 14 children to work. Finally, I could go to school and learn healthy and decent ways of living my life.> <In India, there is still a lot to be done, as prohibiting domestic child labor, for example.> <In my case, there was an anonymous tip. The international pressure helped end the exploitation and allow the inspections to be more rigid.> <There is too much international pressure so that the production chains respect the human rights and have responsible social practices.> <An international humanitarian action helped leaving my life of soldier behind.
